History
Circa 2005
In a small garage with just a few kettlebells, pull-up bar, and a set of homemade gymnastics rings, the “Torture Chamber” was born.
Armed with a desire for physical punishment, my friends and I pushed ourselves physically and mentally in this sweaty shoe box. A few years of
sucking propane fumes (our only heat source in the winter) and swinging bone chilling kettlebells had me thinking about opening a training facility.
September 2008
I passed The Russian Kettlebell Challenge. I became a certified kettlebell instructor, the piece of the puzzle I had been looking for.
November 2008
What was the “Torture Chamber” moved downtown and became Superior Kettlebell Gym.
Location
The facility is located on 132 E Superior St in the historic old City Hall downstairs. There is a back door on the corner of 2nd Ave E and Michigan St. Parking is available on 2nd Ave E or in the Casino parking ramp.
